Motivate young professionals as an executive coach.



Serve as resource for parents and high school students embarking on the college search process. 



Present to groups of high school students, parents and high school counselors and also provide individual consultations about college transition issues and the college experience in general.



Serve as consultant to college and universities and non-profit organizations in evaluating and implementing programs in the areas of student services, recruitment/retention, residential life and multicultural affairs.

 

Assess college operations and link student affairs and academic affairs.


December 2012– ACCESS Health Worldwide



Serve as a consultant to ACCESS Health Worldwide, a project of the Public Health Institute, which focuses on partnerships that include companies to increase the availability of resources to improve health, especially to women, to reflect the voice of communities, and to help companies transition from charity to longer-term investments.

Collegiate Experience

2006-2013:  Colby College, Waterville, ME

Special Assistant to the President for External Affairs



  • Lead collaborative initiatives and programs with Admissions, Alumni Affairs, Career Center, College Relations, Academic Departments, the President’s Office, and other college stakeholders.

  • Mentored and advised current students and alumni; interacted with over 16,000 Colby undergraduates over a 38 year tenure.

  • Developed and implemented strategies to recruit underrepresented students to participate in the CAPS (Colby Achievement Program in the Sciences) made possible by a grant from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

  • ​Succeeded in recruiting 36 students for the CAPS program over three years

  • Engineered Colby College’s role as one of only five institutions to serve as a college partner with the KIPP (Knowledge Is Power Program)

  • Managed the WBBC program (Wabanaki/Bates/Bowdoin/Colby) to increase awareness of Native American issues on all three campuses and to encourage native youths to strive for a college education.

  • Pioneered the first Trustees Emeriti Program.

Vice President of Student Affairs and Dean of Students



  • Appointed first female Vice President in the 200 year history of Colby College.

  • Oversaw Student Activities, Residential Life, Chaplains, Academic Advising, Discipline, Multicultural Affairs, Health Center and Counseling Center. Managed crisis intervention on and off campus.

  • Was recognized as an accessible resource to students, parents, faculty and alumni.

  • ​Initiated the Colby Posse program (www.possefoundation.org/)

  • Created Dialogue Housing which allowed students to live around a common intellectual theme

  • Enhanced Residential Life through the creation of the Faculty Residence Program

  • Stewarded the program for three major building projects: two residence halls and the formation and expansion of the Student Center

  • Assisted the college in the transition from a Greek system to a new Residential Commons system without fraternities and sororities.
